SEA TURTLE NESTING SUMMER VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Please check back in May 2012 for information on the summer program.
The Sea Turtle nesting program is open to volunteers ages 18 and up.
Sea Turtle Nesting Volunteers sit and watch at assigned sea turtle nests on Pinellas County Beaches monitoring them for activity and alerting supervisors as needed. Once a nest has hatched volunteers assist the supervisor with the release. There is no contact with the hatchlings at any time. Volunteers must be available to nest sit at night from approximately 9pm-1am. All volunteers in the nesting program must have a red LED flashlight, cell phone, email and computer access. While on shift volunteers must wear a nesting t-shirt which will be sold at the meeting for $11. A limited supply of red LED flashlights will be available for $10 each.
All nesting volunteers MUST attend one of the Nesting volunteer meetings. Reservations are required.
