Clearwater Marine Aquarium Announces its First Documentary
Don’t Miss “Winter, The Dolphin that Could!”
Clearwater , Fla. – Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) is thrilled to announce the release of its first-ever documentary. “Winter, The Dolphin that Could!” recounts the true story of Winter, the tailless dolphin. The young animal was not expected to survive after her tail got caught in crab trap and eventually fell off. The film takes viewers on an extraordinary journey through her rescue and rehabilitation, including never seen before behind-the-scenes video of her tail and her fight to stay alive. The documentary also tells the story of how Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics stepped up to make her a one-of-a-kind prosthetic tail. The gel being used in the sleeve of Winter’s tail is also now being used to help humans with prosthetics walk.
“We are amazed at how Winter’s story has impacted so many people all over the world,” said CMA CEO David Yates. “We hope this documentary reminds people they can do anything they set their mind to. Winter is proof of that.”
The documentary is presented by Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Gabby Productions, in conjunction with Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute and Florida Atlantic University .
