Our Food Service Team will guide the volunteer in the daily operation of our food court, assisting with cart organization, guest interaction, cash handling, and cleanliness standards. Our Food Service Team will instruct the volunteer on the basic principles of food handling, preparation, proper storage and service. The culinary manager will conduct weekly training classes, sharing culinary skills and beginner recipes. The volunteer will take an online training class to become certified in Basic Food Handling. This certification will assist the volunteer with any future endeavors within the culinary workplace.

Volunteers should be comfortable working and interacting with guests and other staff at CMA.

Food service volunteers commit to at least 1 weekly reoccurring 4 hour shift.


Research microscope iconEducation Camps (Summer Only)

Volunteers will assist our Education Team as “Camp Instructors” both in the classroom and out on the boat (duties include but are not limited to supervising children, taking camp groups on bathroom breaks, supervision of campers during lunch and out in the water while snorkeling). Volunteers in this department are required to have a mask, snorkel, 1 piece swimsuit; closed toed water shoes and towel during all volunteer shifts.

Students must be 16 or older and willing to submit to background / fingerprinting check to be eligible for this position.

Education camp volunteers commit to at least 1 weekly reoccurring 8 hour shift (Mon-Fri only)


HR volunteer iconDive Team

Volunteer SCUBA divers assist with our pool cleaning challenge. Air tanks are provided and some equipment is available. Any person interested in applying must provide a copy of their Scuba Certification Card from a recognized agency as NAUI, PADI, PDIC, or SSI, First Aid/CPR/AED certification and a copy of their 2 most recent dives from their log book.

Junior divers must commit to at least 2 dives per week.


hospitality iconGuest Experience

Junior Volunteers in the Guest Experience departments are ambassadors to CMA, providing first impressions and enhancing the visitor experience! Volunteers in this department should be very social and comfortable talking to numerous people daily. Previous public speaking experience is not required, but you are required to be willing to improve your public speaking skills!

Guest Experience volunteers engage CMA guests and attend to their needs. Tasks include: greeting guests in the ticketing line, facilitating their entry into CMA, manning the glitter tattoo station, and roaming throughout the building engaging guests about our work and mission. Volunteers must be comfortable with standing and walking on cement, going up and down stairs, and moving quickly from one task to another.

Guest experience volunteers commit to at least 1 weekly reoccurring 4 hour shift.
