North Atlantic Right Whale Adoption

Symbolically Adopt an Animal

The North Atlantic right whale is one of the world’s most endangered large whale species. Right whales are baleen whales which feed on krill, a shrimp-like organism. They also feed on small fish by straining water through large amounts of sea water through their baleen plates, which act like a strainer. Although whaling is no longer a threat, human interactions still present the most danger to this species.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute works to protect and conserve our world’s fragile coastal ecosystems and the endangered species that call them home. We focus on the conservation of flagship species, such as manatees, sea turtles, and right whales, to ensure greater protection for the species themselves and for the sensitive habitats these animals rely on around the world.
