Winter Inspires

Winter the dolphin’s rescue was a defining moment for Clearwater Marine Aquarium, in many ways. Not only has she become an ambassador representing the remarkable rescue and rehab work done at CMA, but she has also inspired so many people – children and adults – who have suffered life-changing injury and illness and had to struggle, like Winter, to adapt.

Finding Hope

Hope the dolphin was rescued 5 years and 1 day after Winter. Both Hope and Winter were found near the same site, and both were found at a similar age – just a couple of months old. After her rehabilitation, Hope was paired with Winter and they have become the best of friends.

Despite overwhelming odds against survival, Winter’s ability to adapt to her new physical form surpassed expectations. In the process of doing so, Winter’s story has inspired millions all over the world.
